CJC-1295 without DAC — also known as Modified GRF (1-29) — is an engineered analog of the shortest fully active fragment of GHRH. Native GRF (1-29) is degraded within minutes by the enzyme DPP-IV; the modified analog carries four amino-acid substitutions (including D-Ala at position 2) that protect it from this cleavage while leaving the receptor-binding core intact.
The peptide is a GHRH-receptor ligand in cell-based assays. Chemically, the tetrasubstitution pattern relative to GRF (1-29) confers resistance to DPP-IV and extends the practical handling window in solution — without the irreversible albumin conjugation of the DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) variant, which is why the no-DAC form is used wherever the native-scale analog is required.
